Fireball Ceramic Coating ApplicationsOur ceramic coatings are typically used on exhaust headers, exhaust systems, turbo housings, piston tops, valve face, inside combustion chambers & exhaust ports. It is a thin 0.002 thick smooth aluminum colour that is metallurgic ally bonded to the metal that allows it to match the thermal expansion of the base metal. It will help insulate the piston and the heads from heat.. while retaining more heat in the combustion chamber and exhausting it where it belongs. This can result in a cooler running engine with improved combustion and potential increased power.
What Are Fireball Ceramic Coatings?Fireball applies high temperature ceramic coatings that can withstand temperatures ranging from 1300° F (Quick Silver Polished) to 2000° F. Our propriatary coatings are a polymer based resin that contains ceramic particulate, and other metal particulate in order to reduce heat transfer and excellent corrosion resistance. The ceramic & metal particulate is held in suspension with a very flexible high temp polymer that allows us to ceramic coat springs and and parts that will flex. Our Quicksiler coating has passed a 7000 salt spray test for corrosion resistance which is approximately 2 times greater than standard powder coatings provide. Thermal Barriers, How do they work?Reduce Heat Transfer = Increase Horsepower!
The next test was a small oxy-acetylene flame (6000 degrees F) that was applied on the domes a stock piston that took 50 seconds to burn a hole through the un-coated piston. The same torch was applied to the coated piston which took 85 seconds to get the aluminum hot enough to droop. Fireball Ceramic Coating Colour Choices
